What is Playground?

PLAYGROUND is an artist-led platform dedicated to supporting the development and presentation of new work while introducing a space for interaction, discussion and collaboration for artists and creative professionals in and around Oxford.

PLAYGROUND events take place every 2 months. At PLAYGROUND you can find the freshest, crispiest and bravest locally grown art practices, from performance to illustration and from music to socially engaged work.

PLAYGROUND has been running since June 2012 and has supported the development of over 70 unique art projects while facilitating a space for networking and peer-to-peer support for artists. We also run PLAYGROUND ON FIRE – a biennial arts festival over the whole building of the Old Fire Station.

To take part in the most fertile creative hub around, click on Come and Play and use the Contact form to let us know a bit about yourself. Or you can just pop in to one of our regular sessions and enjoy an evening full of the avant-garde of the Oxford art scene.

We want to thank the Oxford City Council’s Culture Fund and the Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts for helping us establish this much needed art platform in the heart of Oxford.
