July’s Playground is going to be the last one for the summer!
Put it in your diaries, bring along your friends and don’t forget your sunscreen. Playground on Tuesday 9 July will be all about the healing properties of sunshine and its mood changing effects on mammals. Or it can be about you and the artists who live near you and about all the amazing work that is being developed as we speak.
Our Playmaster Tim will present his latest collaborative project Ioannina Polyphonia which is an ever-evolving sonic exploration, incorporating guerilla field-recording of the urban and rural environment of the city of Ioannina, Greece, and layering it with the city’s historical and literary context. It includes singing nightingales and squeaking frogs.
Kaye will go for a round of Chemical Reaction, sharing with everyone her new-born idea of a very unique type of magazine that would promote and feature the collaboration between artists and non-artists for the creation of its content. Whereas, for example, a musician could draw inspiration from the work of an architect and/or vice-versa.
And there will also be me (Stav) with a Share my Toys. I will share my limited understanding of methods that we can use to come up with ideas for a new piece of work as a response to a specific context, site, theme or duration.
I’ll see you all there at 7pm at the Old Fire Station. We’ll be upstairs at the Loft, so just make sure you enter through the George Street entrance.
