What a brilliant way to start off after the summer holidays! Seeing all of your lovely faces again, reignited our faith in why we’ve been running PLAYGROUND all this time.

So good to have Alex Newton and Reverend Productions there- both Playground first-timers – as well as Ana Barbour, one of our amazing Skyrocket artists. It was also great to have a surprise visit by an Oxford Times photographer who was very keen to document the setting up and preparation of September’s Playground session.

First on was Oxford-based theatre company Reverend Productions with some scenes from their very intriguing brand new play “Nerve”, developed through The Park Theatre’s (London) scheme “Script Accelerator”.

Ana Barbour talked about her thoughts and ideas behind her latest project “Resting Places” which she developed through our Skyrocket scheme and presented at Playground on Fire last June and she invited everyone to get involved in discussionson the subject of lying down in public spaces.

Alex Newton who just completed the MA Contemporary Arts at Oxford Brookes, brought his latest video work “Circadia” to share with us. Alex showed an “accelerated” version of the film followed by a quick fire Q & A afterwards.
